Updated Local Resources page

01/25/2026 - Check out the Local Resources page on this website. It was updated with a completed new look which should be much easier to read.

As a reminder, the Local Resources page contains contractors, restaurants, local shops and more that you may find useful. If you've enjoyed a good meal at a restaurant or had a contractor at your home who did a great job, let us know by sending an email to contact@willowbrook-hoa.org and we will get them added onto the Local Resources page for others to see.

Snow/Ice Removal Information

12/01/2025 - Our snow/ice removal contractor Ali's will assess the needs of our community in advance of, and based upon the anticipated conditions of each impending snow/ice event. Some items to note:

  • Roads are pre-treated as conditions warrant.

  • Clearing roads are the top priority followed by driveways, front walkways and lastly sidewalks.

  • The volume of ice melt applied to driveways, front walkways and sidewalks will be as deemed appropriate by Ali's.

  • Ali's has been made aware not to pile snow in a manner that impedes driving in our community as was done last year.

  • As needed, snow will be piled in the small stone sections of the common parking areas and one common area parking space.

  • Willow Brook residents are asked not to approach Ali's workers during snow removal so that the workers may complete their tasks uninterrupted. This insures the safety of both our residents and the Ali's workers.

  • Any questions or concerns associated with a snow/ice event should be addressed with Armand Minutillo via email (vp@willowbrook-hoa.org) or phone/text 860-944-0491. Your cooperation will enable us to effectively and quickly assess issues so they can be properly elevated to Ali's.

CWPM Trash & Recycling Information

01/12/2026 - We are now almost a month into the changeover to CWPM as our trash and recycling hauler. Here are a few items to note:

  • As we are following Plainville's CWPM pickup rules, there are some pointers to follow if one of our pickup dates falls on a holiday. Click to view the document.

  • CWPM is having two trucks handle our community -- one for the Plainville residents and the other for the Farmington residents. It should be noted that some of the CWPM trucks handle both trash and recycling putting each into its own area within the truck.

Holiday Food Drive

01/08/2026 - The Willow Brook community stepped up during the holiday season collecting 252 pounds of food for the needy. WE thank everyone who participated and especially Linda Firmani for organizing this event. Click to view the letter we received from the Plainville Community Food Pantry.

IMPORTANT: Keep vents clear of snow & ice

01/26/2026 - With the high snow amounts and drifting snow, blocked intake or exhaust vents can cause your heating system to operate improperly, leading to carbon monoxide (CO) entering your home. Since we have high efficiency gas units in our homes, we have small plastic venting pipes outside on the side of your house for air intake and exhaust. Allowing snow to pile above or around these can restrict air flow.

CO is an invisible, odorless, poisonous gas that is most often produced when fuel-burning appliances – like furnaces, boilers, fireplaces, stoves, clothes dryers and water heaters – malfunction.

Please check that your vents are clear of snow and always make sure you have functioning CO alarms in your home!

For those of you with generators, you should also clear the area around your generator of snow that might be covering the exhaust vents.
